Ash
Ash (Asher Gould) is the regular DJ for the James Whale Radio Show and often annoys James. He also takes the calls, produces the show and makes some of the Jingles. One of the most famous was Ash speeding up Jon Gaunt's Sound Bites to make his voice squeaky to advertise the talksport presenter. Ash has been trained as a rabii and like to take every religious holiday (of all religions) he can.
Ash's Wikipedia Page:
Asher Gould (born 3 June 1971 in Birmingham, England), or "Ash" as he is known to listeners, is a senior producer for talkSPORT in the UK.
He grew up in Handsworth, Birmingham and went to school with the brother of comedienne, Shazia Mirza. Mirza once appeared on the James Whale show but ended up in an argument with Whale.
As of 2006, he can be found doing the 10pm to 1am late shift, and is most famous for his work on the James Whale Radio Show where he is the producer. Ash has been Whale's sidekick for many years. However, at times you realise that Ash is the one pulling the strings. Ash's occasional banter makes the show, and is sometimes the only voice there, when Whale storms off. At other (frequent) times, Ash leaves the show on auto-pilot, and goes AWOL, wandering around Talksport's corridors, much to Whale's disdain.
Ash once co-presented with Tommy Boyd on The Human Zoo. Ash's off-the-cuff remarks made him a very popular member of that team, and he went on to develop that style on the Whale show.
Other notable Ash attributes: A heavy but laid back Brummie accent, sometimes long hair, supports Aston Villa, has the habit of smoking during shows and observes every religious holiday possible of all denominations.
Asher is the brother of media entrepreneur and broadcaster, Jonny Gould
